Domestic connections

If your flight originated in Canada and you're connecting on a flight to another Canadian destination:

Your checked luggage will typically be moved to your next flight for you.

Check with your airline to confirm luggage information.

Flight information displays are located throughout the domestic / international gate area to help guide you to your next departure gate.

Transborder (U.S.) connections

If your flight originated in Canada and you're connecting on a flight to the U.S.:

  1. Follow the signs to leave the domestic / international gate area. Exit down the stairs, escalator or elevator to the Arrivals Hall.
  2. Pick up your luggage from the baggage carousel.
  3. Proceed to Departures Level 2 to go through transborder screening.
  4. Get precleared. Preclearance allows you to clear U.S. Customs in Canada and arrive in the U.S. as a domestic traveller.

If your flight originated in the U.S. and you're connecting on a flight to a Canadian destination:

  1. Go through Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) screening in the Customs Hall.
  2. Pick up your luggage from the International Arrivals Hall.
  3. Proceed to Departures Level 2 to go through domestic pre-board screening for your next flight.

International connections

If your flight originated in Canada and you're connecting to an international destination:

Your checked luggage will typically be moved to your next flight for you. Check with your airline to confirm luggage information. Flight information displays are located in the domestic / international gate area to help guide you to your next departure gate.

If your flight originated outside of the U.S. or Canada and you're connecting on a flight to a Canadian destination:

  1. Go through the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) screening in the Customs Hall.
  2. Pick up your luggage from the International Arrivals Hall.
  3. Proceed to Departures Level 2 to go through domestic pre-board screening for your next flight.

Keep your boarding pass with you

If you need to leave the domestic / international or transborder gate areas located post-security, keep your boarding pass with you as you'll need to go through security again upon re-entrance to catch your flight.
