At the airport

The terminal has two levels: Arrivals Level 1 on the ground floor and Departures Level 2 up an elevated roadway.

There are three entrance / exit doors on each level of the terminal. The middle entrances are power-assisted revolving doors. All other entrances have motion-sensored, oversized sliding doors.

Inside the terminal, design cues help make important facilities easier to find and use.

Accessibility features

Parking

The Parkade adjacent to the terminal features two oversized elevators, a pedestrian ramp, and stairs connecting all levels. Additional parking options are available along with online booking.

Curbside assistance

Travellers with a disability or reduced mobility can request curbside assistance by touching the screen of one of the digital accessibility kiosks located in the Departures Level drop-off area or by calling 204-987-9798. A representative will be dispatched within five minutes to meet you at the curb and help you to the check-in counter for your airline. 

Washrooms

Orange tiles on walls and floors identify washroom entrances. All washrooms have open entryways. Water fountains are located at most washroom entrances. Separate family washrooms are available to accommodate a variety of users, including parents with children or a person with an attendant.

Elevators

Elevator locations are distinguished by granite tiles embedded into the floor. Upon entering the terminal, you will find the elevator on the west side of the building or to the left of Door 3.

Flight information displays

Approachable monitors showing all flight information are located on all levels and areas of the terminal. Please call our Information Booth at 204-987-9402 to receive flight details over the phone.

Visual information displays

Monitors used to display messages and important updates in text format with graphics are located alongside flight information displays.

Passenger security screening

During security screening, advise the agent if you wish to have privacy. Designated rooms are available for private security screening.

Airline check-in

Advise the check-in agent if you need assistance. Check-in counters and kiosks are accessible from a standing or seated position. For additional information or help in the terminal, go to the Travellers' Aid kiosk, located near Door 1 on Departures Level 2.

Signage

Our signs contain Braille, internationally recognized symbols and bilingual text directing passengers to various amenities.

Baggage pick-up

An audible alarm and a flashing light will signal when the baggage belt starts to move and checked luggage will be delivered to the baggage claim area shortly. Assistance can be requested by asking the airline representative near the baggage carousel or by calling 204-987-9798.

Therapy dogs

Therapy dogs are here to bring you comfort and joy while you wait for your flight. The St. John Ambulance therapy dogs are guided by friendly volunteers. You're welcome to approach the therapy dogs and connect with a new furry friend.
